Invest Fest 2024 Seeks to Support Your Financial Fitness
Have you checked your financial pulse recently? Visionaries and founders of Earn Your Liesure, Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings, are inviting you to Invest Fest 2024, from August 23-25, 2024, to help improve your financial fitness. In its fourth consecutive year, the financial conference is a rich experience combining investing, entrepreneurship, pop culture and entertainment.
The National Urban League recently published a Personal Finance (P-Fin) Index report that revealed that “African Americans scored comparatively low on questions related to comprehending risk, investing, and identifying go-to information sources.” Invest Fest is one force helping to build financial literacy in the Black community.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens stressed the importance of financial literacy, stating that you can’t “secure the bag” if you’re not financially literate. Dickens is excited that the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta will host the financial education conference.
Invest Fest 2023 ambassador Lubna Lundy, Director of Investment Product at Fidelity Investments, shared her experience with last year’s fest, “I was able to engage with existing and prospective clients on topics like Fidelity Saving, Investing, and Retirement solutions.” She also discussed thematic investing and shared resources with attendees like Creating Black wealth and building a legacy.
Past keynote speakers have included Robert F. Smith, Steve Harvey, Tyler Perry and Dan Cathy. This year’s speakers will be announced later in April. A shift in this year’s program will include providing practical insights to everyday attendees.
During a recent press conference, Invest Fest leaders awarded Head’s Plumbing, Georgia’s oldestBlack owned plumbing company with a $5,000 grant as a teaser for the exciting giveaways and grants that will be offered to local businesses during Invest Fest 2024.
Invest Fest falls under Bilal and Millings’s multimedia platform Earn Your Leisure. The platform is designed to give “rise to emerging and established content creators from the world of business, finance, and entrepreneurship whose perspective, expertise and in-depth insight has been undervalued and overlooked.” The Earn Your Leisure podcast is wildly popular and has ranked in the top twenty business podcasts in the United States.
