Alabama State University - Montgomery, Alabama

Through Alabama State’s Department of Accounting & Finance, students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Finance. This HBCU also offers a B.S. in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy. Students have opportunities to interact with corporate leaders and government agencies and also receive exposure to international business and professional ethics within the financial industry. ASU’s Business Cooperative Education Program helps students gain paid business internships and supports students in their career goals.

Alabama A&M University - Huntsville, Alabama

The Bachelor of Science degree in finance at this HBCU prepares students for the 21st century financial industry. Students are exposed to “financial management of corporations, government and non-profit organizations, management of various types of investment instruments, management of financial organizations” and more.

Oakwood University - Huntsville, Alabama

Through Oakwood’s Department of Business Administration students can earn a B.S. in Finance or minor in Finance. On-campus organizations at this HBCU that support this degree program include Phi Beta Lambda, the collegiate division of Future Business Leaders of America and Enactus, previously known as Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE). 

Talladega College - Talladega, Alabama

The Division of Business Administration prepares students to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Banking and an MBA with a concentration in Finance. Additional concentrations include Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and others. The Finance and Banking concentration includes major courses emphasizing banking, investment, and stock market analyses.

Tuskegee University -Tuskegee, Alabama

The Finance Program at this HBCU offers students an opportunity to attain a B.S. in Finance. Their website cites Bloomberg’s description of the finance program as highly quantitative and computer intensive. The program is ranked amongst the top programs at Tuskegee.

Tuskegee’s Andrew F. Brimmer College of Business and Information Science is the recipient of the Society for Financial Education and Professional Development (SFEPD) 2022-2023 Top Student Ambassador Program Award for a second time.
